Title: Don't Give Up

The neighborhood is primarily residential, with a mix of tenements, apartment blocks, city housing projects, townhouses and renovated rowhouses, and its many retail businesses reflect the ethnic and social diversity of the population. The western part of Chelsea has become a center of the New York art world, with many art galleries located in both new buildings and rehabilitated warehouses.

Greenwich Village, often referred to in New York as simply "the Village", is a largely residential neighborhood on the west side of Lower Manhattan in New York City. A large majority of the district is home to upper middle class families. Greenwich Village, however, was known in the late 19th to mid 20th centuries as an artists' haven, the bohemian capital, and the East Coast birthplace of the Beat movement. What provided the initial attractive character of the community eventually contributed to its gentrification and commercialization.

Richard is flying up high, as always… Surveying the landscape. He looks for people, and things, of power, his eyes stopping every so often, as he moves along.

After a couple meetings regarding his ACTUAL job, Mike has found himself free from other personal obligations. WHICH leads to him wandering back to Greenwich. The conversation last night was not quite as productive with Strange asking about his abilities, but it did get a few more potentials for the team they need to assemble by Sunday. Or is it Monday? The guy did kind of set the deadline late on Sunday. Wouldn't be very sportsmanlike if the week was really 6 days and some change, right?

Right?

Anyways, Mike wanders, glancing around for any of the folks from last night.

Richard slowly descends, the blue speck turning into the man clad in blue…. He works his way down, until he arrives near Mike. He takes off his helmet, and walks up to approach him. "Hello again."

If the greeting didn't draw Mike's attention, the action before hand plus the outfit Richard wears is sufficient to perform the same task. The musician halts. "Hi." He replies. There is probably other things to include in this but Mike was not expecting to find someone so quickly, or vice versa.

Richard takes a deep breath, "I think we should talk. A lot is going on. PErhaps we can talk in a safer place? Or do you feel comfortable talking out here?"

'I think we should talk.' A phrase that strikes terror into the hearts of people when heard from their significant other. But being that Mike and Richard are NOT a thing, it has no power over him. Mike nods, "Yeah, someplace not quite out in the open would be good…" He glances around, considering where they could talk that isn't prone to 'razzi. He may not be in the attire of Drago, but, Someone's BOUND to take pictures of a blue and yellow dressed space cop.

Richard hmms.. "Alright.. Would you like me to fly you somewhere? Or shall we walk somewhere?"

Mike glances around, finding the tried and true alleyway, baring random Demon encounters, those tend to provide some semblance of privacy. "A bit of both perhaps." He muses, walking towards the alleyway, pausing to make sure there aren't any unwanted, visible extracurriculars waiting.

Richard follows along, quietly, and gets to where Mike stops. HE scans a bit, and then says, "Ok, we're good now. No one really cares… It's New York." He then says, "Soo…. What do you think about things?"

"I'm thinking there should be a mandatory reservation to keep track of all these invasions and whatnot." Mike replies candidly, "Demons, Aliens, Gamemasters, on top of the bullshit that already goes on in a short time period's a big pain in the ass." He pauses, "As for putting this team together in a week bit, that's just asking for problems later."

Richard says, "So.. I never understood. What is it you do? If you're not SHIELD, then why are they interested in you?""

Loki pulls a Drop Dead Fred by suddenly appearing with a grin. "What are you fellows talking about?"

Mike blinks at the question before shaking his head, "They're not int-" He stops as the mischeivious Asgardian pops in. "Hey Loki," Mike greets, returning the grin, "Blue Boy wanted to get a feel for the situation."

Loki grins and lifts a hand in greeting. "Oh yes, blue boy. Did you punch him yet? You really should. Avenge me, oh brave Mike!" He's just derping around, not even really paying attention to what he's sayng.

Richard takes a deep breath, and doesn't play into the joking. "Well, I guess with the disparate group we have, that Doctor Strange will be the man to lead the team. He knows a lot about a lot of things. If there is combat, I should be on the field. Perhaps Loki here and his brother should be there as well."

Mike blinks, looking over to Richard, brow raising, "Not yet. What's my motivation?" He pauses, letting the acting joke linger for a few tics before continuing, "I know that Strange is looking to get the full team lineup figured out."

"Strange is a mortal. He is only as old as an aging mortal, he may know a lot of facts, but he does not have a millenia of experience. You should elect Thor as field leader. I am not worthy of being on the team. I am too much of a liability."

Richard blinks, "Why do you say that? You're a powerful spellcaster that was difficult even for me to fight." He says, "Besides, we don't even know if the Captain can BE on the field. If so, then yes, sure, Thor would be fine. But if not, then, no, we wouldn't want Thor off the field."

As Loki starts to talk himself out of a position, Mike turns to look to him. "The fuck? Where the hell are you getting that from?" His body shifts, facing him. "I want you on the team, Wanda and Strange want you on the team. Hell, Wanda prefers you to Thor. And quite frankly I think I'd work better with you than him." He pauses, "And I'd rather you fighting along side me than sitting on the sidelines which the captain's probably going to be doing."

Loki shrugs and says, "Oh, I don't know…perhaps because I am the god of mischief? I am untrustworthy by nature. Who is your captain? I am certain there is going to be more to the position than just sitting on the sidelines. If you need a sacrificial lamb then I am your god, but if you need someone that won't get everyone killed, then…I would rethink that idea."

Richard blinks… "The Scarlet Witch thinks Thor is less preferable in a battle than Loki?" He smirks. "No. I'd rather have them /both/ on, but you don't keep Thor out of a battle. You put him /in/ it. And yes, you are… You would turn on us by waiting for our team to be weakened, then take us out after the battle." He chuckles, "That would be your best plan, though, no?"

Based from what I've heard there's, something between Thor and the Scarlet Witch which would hinder their teamwork." He glares at Richard, "As for the rest of the shit you just said, SHUT IT." Mike turns back towards Loki, his expression not at all amused by what Loki said, "You and I need to talk. Because all I heard after the sidelines stuff was utter bullshit. I'm still here, aren't I? That guy from the subway's still here, isn't he?"

"Blue Boy is correct. As for the guy from the Subway, I don't know! I haven't seen him. Maybe he disappeared through a massive portal somewhere to the land of potatoes." He huffs and runs a hand through his hair. "I just don't want you to trust me and then I do something bad."

Richard hehs, chuckles when Mike tells him to shut it. He just shakes his head, and rolls his eyes, but doesn't answer.

Mike looks over towards Richard, "One minute." He requests before spinning back over towards Loki, "Over here for a second." He states to Loki, already moving a bit further down the alley, seemingly expecting Loki to just follow.

"You know, Richard, the mortals have an inappropriate nickname for your name. Perhaps you would like to stop acting like one. Loki then blinks, then looks sheepish. "Pardon me a moment," The still-blond godling says, following Mike as if about to be scolded by Odin.

Richard blinks, "How am I the bad guy here? /You're/ the one who said we couldn't trust you, because you serve mischief. However, if you guys want to talk without me, by all means… Knock yourselves out. I'll go back on patrol."

Mike disregards Richard's defensive response, perhaps a bit unfairly, but this guy has his own set of priorities and something that trumped being polite and sociable came up. When Loki comes over, he brings an arm over to rest on one of the prince's shoulders, tilting his head forward in cue for Loki to do so as he starts to talk to hime with a lowered voice. "I get it." Mike starts, "I've gone through this too. But, you got to stop giving up on yourself. You showed yourself worthy. You're capable. Now keep at it." His head tilts up, looking at Loki, "Got it?"

LOki looks up, then lowers his head. "I know. To a point. I am capable of many things, but beytrayal is also possible. I could simply be in a bad mood and snap your neck."

Mike tilts his head, "Everyone's capable of doing bad things. But they're also capable of doing good. I'm just asking you to try."

"I know, I am trying. You should read those books of yours. I will work as hard as I can, but I do not know if I can do it."

The muscian grows quiet in consideration, giving a nod. "You're not the only one who has doubts about whether they'll be of help or not."
