Title: Upper East Side Freak Show

The Upper East Side is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan in New York City, between Central Park and the East River. The Upper East Side lies within an area bounded by 59th Street to 96th Street, and the East River to Fifth Avenue-Central Park. Once known as the 'Silk Stocking District',it retains its position as one of the most affluent neighborhoods of New York City.

Generally speaking, the Upper East Side stretches from 59th Street to 96th Street. Many realtors used the term "Upper East Side" instead of "East Harlem" to define areas that are north of 96th street such as on 5th ave or areas close by such as 97th street to avoid the negative connotation since people associate the latter with being a less prestigious neighborhood. Its north-south avenues are Fifth Avenue, Madison Avenue, Park Avenue, Lexington Avenue, Third, Second and First Avenues, York Avenue, and East End Avenue (the latter runs only from East 79th Street to East 90th Street).

Loki is on the lookout, though dressed like an everyday modern teen so as not to draw attention to himself. He ran into someone claiming to be a scout of someone named Mephisto, and the encounter left him more than a little annoyed. So, the trickster is n the hunt, using himself as potential bait. He probably would have fit in a bit more had he worn a coat rather than a hoodie in the bone chilling cold, but he doesn't feel the chill.

As Loki puts himself out there in the dimming light, several birds of varying shades of neutral tones perch upon the roof ledge. There's a soft sound of feathers rustling for a few moments before going quiet.

On the other side of the street, a figure, also wearing a hood is walking. Hood pulled down low, hiding the face, there's not much about them in terms of identifying features present other than the thin but short frame. Not quite a child, but not quite full adult either.

Loki looks up and takes notice of the young man, stuffing his hands in his pockets. He pauses a moment to pretend to be looking at a sign, glancing over at him every so often. He should just use some magic to hide himself and follow him, but he just doesn't feel like it at the moment.

Above the buildings floats a single figure, sitting in the air cross-legged. Stephen sits in the lotus position trying to feel the currents of the world. Trying to understand what he encountered the night before. Trying to find his pupil and get some answers from the man, if he has any. Stephen senses those below him, but he stays in the other mind and focuses on the whole of the planet.

Unknowing of those watching him, the young hooded figure continues walking, shivering a bit from the cold. He stops, reaching into his pocket to pull out a half empty bag of M&Ms, slides a single piece out and pops it into his mouth. This does give a bit of a glimpse of the face, pale skin which is far from normal. Folding up the bag once more, he slides it into his pocket once more.

As interesting as this may be, the whisps of something appearing behind the unknowing pedestrian likely is more so. First there is a glint of fang appearing which is soon followed by the rest of the body, mottled fur, beady eyes, waffle tail. Yep. It's a giant mutant killer beaver.

Wat. Loki rubs his forehead and shakes it lightly. Nope. He is not in the mood for that. He emits a sigh and continues walking. As long as the mutant beaver minds its business, he's not going to bother him. He's seen stranger things in Asgard, afterall.

Stephen's mind reaches out once more and probes the planet looking for Mike, sending a message to the young man. "Where are you?" The mage expects an answer having send a message worldwide and yet to an individual. The response would be used to ping Mike's final location. The beaver below him and the man with the wisps are also drawing some of his attention. Curious as to what is happening and what will happen.

Things are quiet for a few moments between the zombie mutant beaver and the one who stands in front of it, the smaller of the two blissfully unaware of the other's presence. But with Loki looking like he has a headache, the hooded figure turns his head to look at Loki as he passes, "What's up w-"
"CHITTERRRGGH!"
.
.
."WH-" Hooded guy is at a loss for words as he's instead running as fast as he can away from the weird creepy four toothed monstrousity that is starting to pursue.

Strange's call for Mike gets a simple response back. .o(Wha?)

The Wizard blinks one eye open at the words he hears below him towards Loki and sighs. He lowers himself to the ground, his attention is pressed onto the beaver. "Cease apparition!" He requests, his voice booming to draw the things focus onto him. "Mike, has anything happened to your compatriot? What was his name?" Stephen's mind sends out towards the somewhat nearby phantasm.

With the shouting, the beaver turns, and gives a snarl towards the doctor while the flock of birds is disturbed. A barrage of greys and blacks fly about before turning to fly away from the scene in the general direction of the mansion.

.o(…Loki?)

Stephen seems to revel in the attention of the beast. "Be gone thing!" He says with a gesture of his hand and a bolt of magic is cast towards the shadow taken shape.

As with the creatures from last night, there isn't much in dramatics when they are hit with the spell, they simply vanish, leaving just a Loki in the general area. The other hooded figure, has run away. For good reason.

"No, this isn't Loki, Nor am I looking for the Asgardian." Stephen says mentally towards the musician. The wizard turns to face the cloaked form of Loki. "Do you know anything about the phantasms?"

"No." Loki lies, still walking. "I don't want involved. There are bigger problems."

.o(…ok?)

"I have sensed these problems Loki. I would like to discuss them and our actions in response to this threat." Stephen says hoping Loki stops to at least hear him out. He doesn't pursue the Phantasm question though he could if he felt it.

"What do you want, Strange? I thought you were the champion for your world or do you need us to take care of Midgard as well as everything else?"

"I am not asking for your helping. I'm asking what you know?" Strange says, suddenly not wanting to try asking more than what he has. Maybe he's beginning to think it's time Loki returns to his home realm.

"Asking me for information is asking for help. I don't know anything." It's half true, he doesn't know what's going on right /now/. "I don't have anything to do with it."

Having his answer and with no further information to get from the Avenger, Stephen suddenly vanishes from sight and is gone from the area.
