Elaine

While at first enthusiastic about finally being able to interact with others, it quickly became apparent to Elaine that she was entraped in prison. Wrapped in thin white leathers with her face obscured behind the vasage of a greek goddess it is impossable not to feel seperated from the rest of life, watching others eat at the table, laugh and gaze upon each other, while she must watch through uncomfortable tinted slits. It was not long before the teen was tempted by some of the male teens for her to remove her mask, which unfortunately she did and thus for the last two days she has not left her room while her effect has been hopefully wearing off. One wore off quicker than the other once he was driven to fight other youths, he lost badly against terrible odds…

One wore off quicker than the other once he was driven to fight other youths, he lost badly against terrible odds… Thus Elaine remains in her room for the time being, her training briefly inturrupted.

The other mutants had indeed gone a bit batty about the girl showing off her face and it had taken awhile for them to calm down… but things had, and it was quiet outside her door all of today. Plus… some of the upper level mutants were more on-guard about the situation to try to calm the others down and keep them from disturbing Elaine, meals had been brought to her room by Marcus… the big guy… and just as the noon hour struck today he knocked again on her door, calmly trying to see if she'd answer. "Miss Elaine." His deep voice said on the other side of it. "I brung you food and a gift."

In light of recent events it is not surprising when Elaine opens the door in her suit, the polished white face resembling busts of aphrodite reflecting in light behind the tall man. Her eyes are unseen behind their tint and her voice is of a distinctly electronic yet feminine tone, none of her mutant charms assail, only the shape of her body is visible and such does not require power to draw attentions. "Oh, hello Markus…" she greets with a cracking voice as she opens the door and steps back and folds her hands, "Eleanor is not mad at me is she? It was a mistake, I was not thinking."

"No, miss." The big guy said back to her, holding her plate of food, which appeared to be ham, potatoes, green beans and some sort of rice dish… and a cup of tea. "She's mad at the others fo temptin you into showin them." He tells her. His left hand came up and he showed her another… mask. This one was a simple ski mask with black plastic 'sunglass-like' eye coverings for better vision. "I made this for ya, miss. I thought it might be more comfortable when ya, when ya don't wanna wear the fancy one." He then offered it and the food tray to the girl in the fancy clothes.

"It does not seem fair that I have to hide, I mean, I've gotten used to all their mutations but they can't get used to mine." Elaine says electronically as she gently takes the food tray and sets it on the dresser, the mask is then taken into her hands. While she might not be able to speak in this particular mask, at least she could eat and move around comfortably, certinaly it will have its uses, it is hard not to wonder if the only reason Markus made the article was because he seen her days past. "Thank you Markus." she says with a soft humm, it is impossable to tell if she is smiling or not, one can only assume. "I have no doubt that I will wear this, it was very thoughtful of you."

"It don't have the fancy voice thing like that one does, but I think its probably more comfortables." The large man told her, not smiling himself as he never smiled he always looked like he was afraid in fact. "I used to have one when I was living on the street. It kept me very warm to sleep in at night…" He glaned away down the hallway as two other mutants walked past, two young women with punk-styled hair doos of purple's and pinks, they were holding hands and they both looked in the door past Marcus and then started grinning at each other after walking past. Marcus looked back at Elaine then. "Dats Tricia and Vicky…" He says in a quiet tone. "They're crazy…" He whispered the last part. "I think you should be happy that you are you, and that you aren't them."

Of course Elaine turns her head and watches Tricia and Vicky stroll out of sight, grinning ear to ear, "Is everyone laughing at me? They know I can't help this right?" she buzzes, her seventeen year old confidance shining through the mask. A deep breath is drawn in as the girl in white straightens and looks back to the mask in hand then raises to look on Markus, "They're crazy? They seem fine, I mean, they say hello and stuff…" After a moments pause before she turns and sets down the fresh mask, she does so with care as she evidently intends to wear the article at a later date.

"They rob places." Marcus replies to her. "For fun… they don't even keep what they take, they trash it or burn it… or whatever." He tells her as he remains there in the doorway, not looking in at Elaine's room as its her private place. "They once gave an old man in a store a heartattacked, waved gun in his face and shouted at him. And now they talk about it proudly, saying how they scared a man to dah grave." He breathed quietly and glanced down at the hallway floor. "Lots of scary people come in and out of here… but I know on dah inside that they just scared little kids, tryin' to act tough 'round all the rest of us." He glanced toward Elaine's door then. "Nobody laughing at you, miss. Dey all too focused on themselves to do that."

Crossing her arms in a manner unintentionally fetchng Elaine looks out the doorway past Markus to where the two girls had been only moments ago, "How come Eleanor does not do something about that, she must know if they are going around bragging about that, a murder!" she states in a surprised yet electronic tone. "I can't imagine that a woman of the church would allow such to continue to stay here, especially if they are not repentant…" A deep breath is drawn in and enhanced by the microphone within her mask, "Did they not get caught on camera or anything? Surely the cops must be out looking for them if they did."

Marcus looked back down the hall, having watched the two punky girls disappear into the seating room. "Vicky can turn off electronics with her brain." He told Elaine, glancing back at her with his large brown eyes. "Miss Eleanor thinks that any mutant can be… rehab'd and trusted, with the right leadership." He looked down at the floor. "I think people is what they is from birth, and dat don't change much… it may bend around a corner or two, but it always goes back to where it started." His huge shoulders shrugged then once. "But Miss Eleanor feeds me and gives me a warm place to sleep all of my own, so who am I to say anything differnt 'bout it?"

Elaine's attentions turn from Markus to the hallway several times turning his explainations, it is impossable to read her emotions but it is clear from body langauge that she is more than a little surprised that a murder would be taken so lightly. "Yes but if they are bragging about it, bragging about the murder of some poor old man…" she states weakly, clearly not in the position to do anything about it, nor is she in any position to do anything heroic. Time spent training during the week demonstraited clearly that Elaine is a girl for looking at, listening to, and touching, she has little to no martial skill and physical strength, only with the tiny Walther PP did she so some skill. Still, her weak hands clinch at the thought of those two girls fearing an aged invidual to death.

"Murder is happenin' on both sides of this'n war, miss." Marcus says back to her, sounding very sad about that prospect. "Humans killing mutants and…" He exhaled. "Mutants killin humans right back. I don't think there is any one right answer to it, Miss… Other than we all live in our rooms and hide from each other." He shook his head. "But, I don't think'n people goin to be doin that, they love to see who the can love and who they can hate. It all one big dumb dance, I thinks." He glanced back to Elaine once again, feeling it easier to look at her with a bit more confidence while she was dressed like this, it made him not feel so allured by her.

While still an enchanting figure Elaine's mutant additive is stifled by the leather garments, though she still is objectively a goddess and of a physique of perfection beyond others, there apparently must be more visible for the magical effect to be presant. There is little doubt she would have any difficulty enticing people even how she stands now, though Ironically, the nature of her abilites assure that she will never have an honest mate, only slaves, though this may not have occured to her as of yet. Such vast charms has made her interactions with humans much more comfortable and dramatically less prone to violence, at least toward herself, "Yes but we can't come across looking like the bad guys in all of this, we will if we go around murdering people. The authorities will surely catch up with us if we do behave that way, we would be givng them cause." she states with electronic seriousness, apparently looking directly at Markus, "And… They outnumber us by whole lot, what if Iron Man were to come down here, it is not as though we could stop him."

Markus was a rather stoic giant, hard to tell his true feelings on the situation around him other than he seemed like an old dog who was just looking to be loyal and loved. "Mr. Stark got more important things to do than bother with a bunch of teenage mutants, I thinks." He said back to the pretty girl in the leather suit. "And the murder those two brag about was before dey came here… Eleanor has calmed dem down some." He shook his head softly then. "But de training here is makin' mutants here stronger, maybe more able to do more bad stuff to more folk. I do not know though, it is… more den me." He glances back at her. "I was asked to invite you to da sub basement if you wanted to see the fighting training that goes on dere, big fights tonight… main boss gunna be here to see how the students are doin."

Though still exhibiting some vexation with her cross-armed pose, Elaine clearly gives Markus' works some thought before she she replies to his offer. "The big boss, you mean Eleanor is not the boss?" she replies after a moment of contempation, her black shaded eyes turning from the hallway back to Markus with posture perfectly straight. "What is there going to be boxing or something going on, target practice, stuff like that?" Another deep breath is drawn in, "I mean, if she does not mind me being out, I would not mind, socializing some…"

"Nobody minds ya being out, Miss." Markus replied to her then. still just standing there in front of her door like a giant sentry. "We had to push the two fellas from your door who were waitin' for ya but dey… they… are better now, but I figure dat dey-they are happy to see you even if you covered up still." The big guy glanced at her again and then looked away once more. "And its nasty fights." He said. "Sub basement big and dark and connected to old tunnels that goo all throughout the city's under belly… everyone trains there-in, the leaders teach and the students learn and den teach too." He shook his head then. "Eleanor is the den mother, she is not in charge beyond caring for us." He paused. "She… not even…" He stopped talking then and moved a step away from the door. "Nevermind. She just want to make sure you have invite to attend and watch, if'n dat… that sounds like somethin you'd wanna do. I be there too, watch over you and make sure everyone keeps civil with you, miss."

It is not surprising that it was thought best to supply Elaine with a chaperone wherever she goes, for truely she an unwitting, yet complete menance to the calm of this hidden institution. "As long as I don't have to fight I'd be happy to come, I'm kinda interested to meet this headmaster you're talking about." she says with continued electronic tone, the mic is far buzzier than expected. "I imagine he must be quite the humanitarian, or mutitariran if you rather, taking us all in like he does."

"Huh." Markus said… which was about as much of a laugh as he was capable of toward the little joke that she made. "I will wait for you in the kitchen then. The fights are not until late tonight, around five pm. And they usually tend to go on until after midnight… but I imagine the big boss'll only be around for an hour or so. I never see her stay longer den dat." He drew in a breath then and glanced at her once more. "I will let you eat your food. I hope you like it, I thought it was bestest ham I've had ever."

Obviously there is no smile, nor anything else to indicate her pleasure at Markus' friendliness, thus she merely reaches out and casually touches as his shoulder in thanks, "Thank you…" she says simply, unaware of how a perfect hand might feel at the man's shoulder. She will have to eat alone, as always, but such things cannot be avoided, Elaine will simply have to get used to the realities of her condition. She will have dinners, nor trips to the beach, she must always be at a lonely distance, lest she unintentionally create a legion of followers forced into friendship rather than by choice, and what a sad thought that would be.
