While Bastion personality is quite clear, his past is another matter. He is not sure what his real name is, how old he was when it happened, where he worked IF he worked and even questions if he was even human. Even details of the event that lead to his current…. state of being are vague and unclear. What he does remember is that during a particular bad storm there was a blinding light that appeared around him that burned runic symbols of animals, plants and things he doesn't recognize into the ground. And then it was all over, the storm had cleared and the light was gone and half buried in the ground was a rather large hunk of crystal gold it seemed. As he picked it up it oscillated with a myriad of different colors. Perhaps hours or maybe weeks passed. He not sure, all he knows is that during that time he tried to study it, found it could change properties going from diamond to bark to things he doesn't even recognized. It changed shaped too forming a gauntlet, belt and even mask. He wasn't sure why, but he felt compelled to put it on. And when he came close to doing that, it turned into a goo like substance that rapidly grew and spread, enveloping him. It was terrifying and amazing at the same time, as he felt power surging into and around his body. Despite his struggles and attempt to get free, his mind became fuzzy, he felt his will being eroded away as he was overtaken. And during that time he heard a voice, one that he regularly talks to now say "Be calm and give in little one. One day you will be complete and we will be one…" and then nothing. He was nothing, no past, no memories, no age, it was if he didn't exist. And then suddenly he did with little to no memory, though he felt the power of a very alien body, was in a strange building he didn't recognize, and when he looked in a mirror, he didn't see himself but the face of a stranger that began talking to him. Life for Bastion has become very strange as he tries to adjust to a new life he never dreamed of having or has he? He can't clearly remember or someone not letting him remember
Overview - Bastion on his own has no outstanding powers, abilities or attributes. It instead comes from a strange ooze like monster that has integrated itself into his very being. This being is both magical and biological in nature granting numerous benefits. Though until Bastion is fully 'assimilated' somethings are just hard to do, and hampers many of the creatures capabilities to a great degree
Primary
Ooze Physiology - The creature is made up of a extremely thick ooze like substance, and it's own physiology normally supercedes Bastion. He structure and nature allows him complete control of his body down to the molecular level. This allows him to put holes in his body, shapeshift into almost anything he can imagine, and is even maintained while sleeping. However he cannot mimic voices, 'female forms' or bio signatures. He can control individual pieces of himself, allowing him to separate or merge back into one being at will even if blown up or create various controllable constructs. All parts of this creature exist as a single hive mind, of which Bastion is a part of. The goo is able to spread and grow to cover any object. Inversely it is able to store even large objects within itself without any apparent change.
The creature is nearly indestructible. Bullets either bounce off or are absorbed into the creature. And while bladed weapons might cut in, due to being made of goo any 'wounds' just flow back together. The creature has no need to eat, breath or sleep. This is passed onto Bastion as well, except he still needs sleep. This creature is able to regenerate fully even if only one gram of it is left behind, though from that amount it would take at least a day to get a full usable body. The more matter he absorbs the stronger, smarter and more powerful the creature becomes however this has been severely limited by Bastions mental locks.
Assimilate/Integrate - The creature seems to have a lot of control over Bastion, both mentally and physically since it has only partially assimilated him. Why it hasn't fully assimilated him is largely unknown. The goo that compromises the creature can spread to other living organism and bring them into the 'hive mind' and control them. However due to Bastion influence it is rather rare to bring in other sentient creatures. The goo is able to spread to fit into all sorts of places, such as in car wiring, as such it can integrate even technology into it's form. They are able to communicate with any being that has become assimilated or integrated. This also allows them to increase intelligence by absorbing knowledge
Alchemy/Chemistry -Whatever this creature is made of, allows it to absorb, store, alter, process, mix and purify matter and ingredients at will, living or nonliving in order to create potions, gases, poisons, bombs, etc. His body can also take on the properties of any substances he has broken down and absorbed before such as water, steel, bark, etc and maintain a usable organic form. They are immune to themselves, so if they create or turn into something poisonous or would normally harm them it will not (so long as it comes from them). He however cannot take on a gas form, though he can produce it. The creatures alchemical and chemical nature allows him to do other things such as glow in the dark, create fireballs or electricity. They are also able to transmute other objects if they can cover them, but due to Bastion they are usually unable to transmute sentient beings (which would kill them).
Flight - Resulting from their magical nature, they can infact fly. Alone they can reach speeds of up to 100mph and stay afloat for an indefinite amount of time. However they can use a chemical boost to help propel them to upto to 200 mph, however such speeds can only be maintained for at most an hour. And while through appropriate shapeshifts and chemicals reactions might propel them faster, it is rather uncomfortable and unnerving for both Bastion and Imperial.
Secondary
Regeneration - The creature is extremely resistant to poisons and disease and passes this on to Bastion. In addition it provides Bastion with both persado and true super regeneration allowing him to regenerate limbs and even vital organs. That is, if Bastion were to lose such a part, ooze will simply form a makeshift (if in a dire situation). When it is safe it will force Bastion cells to begin to regenerate forming an actual replacement within moments. This is tiring for the both of them, and pretty painful for Bastion. In addition it is possible Bastion has a greatly extended lifespan, possibly immortal. A regeneration of this nature might not put them out of a fight, but they won't be able to use most of their other abilities (such as alchemy/chemistry) until they rest.
Energy Source - Due to their nature, they actually act as a constant energy source. Both magical and electrical. The magical energy they produce, along with their nature make them perfect for spells and of course alchemy. They produce enough electrical energy to be able to power even a large building.
Hidden Mind - In a way the mind of Bastion and this ooze is 'turned in'. This means they do not broadcast any mental thoughts. And while they are naturally resistant to telepathic intrusion they are not immune.
Enhanced Body - The creature for now granted Bastion enough strength to lift 50 tons clear over his head and has reflexes to rival olympians. The creature is also extremely intelligent though this attribute is not always shared with Bastion. And while Bastion is also granted enhanced speed, it is only at peak human and is often faster to fly.
Shift - The creature, and thus Bastion are actually capable of dimensional travel. This allows them to travel from earth to other planets or even other dimensions. However it DOES NOT allow them to transverse time or teleport (as in if say they are on earth, they normally cannot get to another spot on earth with this power). Traveling back will usually put them where they had originally left. This also requires that they are not being impeded mentally or physically.
Note - The creature actually has no actual 'hard' locks, but only 'soft' ones that are created between the bond he has with Bastion for the purpose of balance. It is unlikely that these soft locks will be broken during the course of 'normal rp, except temporarily if there is a need to for plot purposes
Omniscience - Bastion and Imperial are both skilled in science and arcane lore. From computer science to ancient spells, he has studied it. Though he doesn't quite compete with other people in most fields since the knowledge was accumulated more out of curiosity and a desire to learn (though better than the average person for sure). However there are some fields he does specialize in and has study extensively. Those would be Ecology, Cryptozoology, Alchemy, Chemistry and Biochemistry.
Ancient Weaponry - Imperial fondness of fantasy and medieval convinced him how to learn how to use many old weapons. Though despite his enhanced abilities, his skills with bows, swords and crossbows are sportsmen level rather than combative. The sole exception to this is the most ancient weapon of all. Hands. They prove to be rather dangerous hand to hand combatants.
Firearms - Bastion has trained in the use of firearms and knows how to properly and safely use various firearms. This is limited to more modern day/easier to obtain firearms such as pistols and shotguns.
BusinessMan - Well apart of their wealth comes from being business savvy. They have enough money to take risks on new investments and are rather accurate at know when to buy and sell stocks for the best gain. And aside from his own private business he is a licensed stock broker.
Wealth - For a man who doesn't really remember the past, he has a shocking amount of wealth, though he not any Tony Stark or Reed Richards. None the less he has more than enough to live comfortably and afford his home.
Mansion - Well he is wealthy, and make more than enough to live comfortably. This mansion comes equipped with the standard home furnish (such as bathroom, kitchen, etc). But it main feature is the atrium upstairs where he spends most of his time. This atrium serves as his lab, library and place of comfort (for both sides). Their home also has an armory displaying a variety of weapons from across time - though most are unsuitable for actual use these days with a few exceptions
Dueling Pistols - Bastion owns a pair of costume duel pistols fashioned after old dueling pistols, though these ones have modern day accuracy.
Sword - In tune with Imperial's love of knights and fantasy, they own a custom made sword. It has a chromium coating which makes it shining and appear like new.
Species Info - Imperial is a Runic, an amorphous race that shares a hive mind. The homeworld of runics is very chaotic in nature. It not uncommon for a desert one day to be a jungle the next. The planets that make up their homeworld are connected by permanent dimensional gates. These gates also cause anomalies known as storm shocks. Named for the sheer amount of energy contained in such violent storms. During these storms it is possible for gateways to open up to anytime time, dimension or planet allowing things in as well as out. For these two reasons alone Runics grown to constantly evolve and adapt to anything life can throw at them, as well as the ability to actually get home should they end up in a storm shock. And assimilating other forms of life helps them to become bigger, stronger and more adaptive. It also helps them to gain more intelligence and new ideas thus improving their species overall. Sentient beings who end up on their world are immediately assimilated and are transformed into new Runics to ensure their survival and help their own species, though how fast this happens varies. In this case because the Hive Mind is available, the sentient simply becomes a new member of their species. And though every member is ultimately an extension of the OverLords will, they each have their own ideals, thoughts, feelings and so. As such how exactly the Hive Mind works is not well understood, and even many member would be hard pressed to actually explain it.
When they go through a storm shock though, they go into a state of stasis, their bodies condensing and shapeshifting on their own accord. WHen they wake up from this stasis they immediately begin to absorb any form of matter their touching, or if they are touching a sentient creature, will begin to instead Merge bodies and minds with the sentient, resulting in an entirely new being. The reason the minds will merge is because the Runic is cut off from the Hive Mind, forcing it to take drastic measure to ensure that both personas can live by becoming one. If this is not done then ultimately one or both of them will die. In short this often occurs by chance and can happen at any age or time. Though in the end regardless of what they once were, they will eventually become Runic again.
Naturally Bastion and Imperial have a dual persona that isn't always what one expects. The two sides sometime work against one another, with each other or on their own. Leading to at times a very chaotic 'whole' personality.
Bastion - Bastion is a man out of time. He is afraid of what he is capable of being, and afraid of his 'other side' and often feels as if he is in a dream like state or overwhelmed with the power he now has, with everything being unclear. And often in thought trying to figure out who he is since he has limited knowledge of his past. Indeed he is not even sure of his age and can sometimes act as a man out of time, treating futuristic and archaic contraptions like the norm and yet modern day technology as if it was alien, and often doesn't know why he has the skills he has. This is most likely due to his overlap with Imperial. Despite this he is thought, reserved and quick witted. He is a man of science who believe anything, even magic can be explained. He has an unquenchable thirst to study the world around him. He shows a fondness for such things as the wild west, steampunk and tales of exploration.
Imperial - Imperial is an exceedingly confident being that knows very what he is capable of doing and sure of who and what he is. He can be boisterous and at time roudy and rather blunt, but there is no denying he has a naturally commanding nature with a rather aggressive personality at times. Calm and calculating he just as comfortable leading as he is following depending on what is happening. His alien mind, lack of understanding our world fully and curiosity can often lead to misunderstandings. Despite this he is, or at least views himself as a fatherly figure, especially towards Bastion. At time he can be condescending or hurtful without meaning too. Imperial often says he is 'attuned' to the world around them, and has a fondness for knights and things of fantasy and often reads books, collects items or models shapeshifts after such things.
Physical
Magic - Their magical nature means they are also very vulnerable to magical attacks which will easily hurt or damage them, even if the magic is emulating an effect that wouldn't normally hurt them. Ex:A fireball wouldn't hurt them normally, but if the fireball was created with magic it would. Magic can very easily be used to control them as well. Magic can also be used to separate them.
Less Matter, Less Power - If they have to use themselves up for chemical reactions, parts are destroyed or they become split up, they become increasingly weaker. Ex - they split in two, they are half as strong as they would be together.
Hidden Matter - Anything that produce a physical effect that actually isn't their (such as telekinesis or force fields) is a weakness. Many of their ability relies on touch or being able to get to a form of matter, which when blocked off effectively renders them null and void. They cannot even Shift their way out of such a predicament.
Electricity - While they cannot be hurt by electricity, strong electrical currents can paralyze and render their abilities unusable by them and a strong emp can even knock them out cold. In addition it is possible to actually control them with series of electrical pulses, allowing outside users to use Bastion as a puppet (including most of his abilities), and can even cause them to separate
Osmosis - While the creature can normally protect Bastion from poisonous gases and substances, eventually Osmosis will take place. That is if they were submerged in toxic waste or are in a room filled with toxic gas, it will eventually begin to affect them, albeit more slowly due to their resistance. This occurs regardless of what form they are in (the effect would be the same weather steel, wool, glass etc).
Inherent Weakness - They gain the most of the strength AND all of the weaknesses of any form of matter they become. Ex: if they change into water, it is possible to boil them to death.
Sample Required - They cannot take on a form of matter that they have not absorbed/cannot recreate through chemical means. They would have to have at least absorbed five pounds of the matter/element in question. Example of thing he cant turn into include but not limited to Adamantium, Uru, and Most Man Made Elements.
Death Unto Death - The fact is if one dies, so does the other, they are physically and mentally linked in such a way that it is an undeniable truth. While separating them won't cause them to die immediately, Bastion will become weaker and sicker until he eventually perishes due to his reliances on the creature.
Mental
Two Sides - Bastion and Imperial are two side of the same coin. They will often talk to one another even in broad daylight, often giving the impression that they are crazy or unstable. And there may be some truth in that.
Bastion - Bastion hinders what the creature is capable of doing, via a series of mental blocks. This is due to the hive mind they share. And while killing Bastion might seem the obvious solution, the fact is, if he dies, Imperial dies. It is possible these mental links may someday be overcome, but for now they are here to stay. It is unknown how much control Bastion has in their symbiotic state
Imperial - Imperial is the flipside of Bastion. Imperial is able to alter Bastion memories, manners and nature as it pleases and even put him into stasis. It is completely capable of acting like Bastion and taking control when it wants. It curious nature of the world around them, along with many other things often leads to misunderstanding, though more often than not it is fine without not interfering in many things. Despite the amount of control Imperial can exert over Bastion, the true extent of their symbiotic state is unknown
